- A Fellowship of Love

About Us

We are a charismatic, Presbyterian church within the Reformed tradition, composed of people from all over the metropolitan Richmond area.  Our members tend be people who:

    * Sincerely desire to follow Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit
    * Want Scripture, as God's word, to shape our individual and communal lives
    * Want to proclaim the gospel to all peoples worldwide
    * Want to break down the racial and denominational barriers endemic in Richmond
    * Enjoy free and genuine worship

We think of ourselves as God's family - informal, affectionate, freely expressive, and not taking ourselves too seriously. You will find us to be unpretentious, warm and open.

Here are four areas in which God is growing us:

Liberation from narrowness
The love commandment and Jesus' prayer for Christian unity (John 13:34, 17:21) challenges us to give up narrowness and exclusiveness of denomination, culture and race. We are learning to love more broadly.

Reliance on God's power
Human power and effort are too limited and frail to accomplish the goals of God's Kingdom. We are turning aside from self-confidence and learning to rely on the Holy Spirit.

Truthfulness even when it hurts
We are broken people, and we want to avoid pretense, because God loves the truth.  In our worship, our confession of sin, our preaching of the word and our witness about Jesus, we strive for honesty at all times.

Accountability to others
We grow in obedience to Christ by being in accountable relationships.  We are growing as Jesus' disciples as we share our lives with each other in community.
