- A Fellowship of Love

Our Worship

Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:45 AM and draws from reformed, liturgical, and charismatic traditions.  If you will be visiting us for the first time, we encourage you to arrive early enough to mingle and get acquainted ahead of time. Our service may include quiet times of waiting in God's presence, as well as times of more vocal collective praise as we express our love and adoration to God. We try to embody Scripture's emphasis on worship which is both orderly and free.

We understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be in full effect today for the formation and edification of the Christian community. This is reflected in the freedom of our worship, including Spirit-filled praise and Spirit-led congregational prayer. We accept manifestations of the Holy Spirit, including tongues and prophecy, as signs of God’s continued involvement in equipping the church for participation in His mission.

As we respond to God's Spirit, we will occasionally deviate from the order and/or duration of different portions of the service. However, the following should give you a glimpse of what you would likely see in our bulletin on a typical Sunday:

  • Call to Worship - usually a brief welcome and opening prayer.
  • Songs of Praise and Worship - here you will experience an ever-changing and almost indescribable mix of exuberance and reflection. The worship is led by a team that discerns God's moving and brings everyone else into the flow.
  • Open Prayer - here we seek to be genuine and vulnerable, unabashed in our adoration and earnest in our petitions for intervention and healing.
  • Reading of Scripture
  • Sermon - adhering firmly to the Scripture, we deal with issues that affect us on a day-to-day basis.
  • Tithes and Offerings - we see this as part of our worship, giving back to God out of the abundance that He's given to us. If you are a visitor, please do not feel obligated to contribute anything more than your visitor's card to our offering.
  • Doxology - a short hymn of praise.
  • Minute for Missions - a time for us to hear from/about the many ministries and missionaries (local, national and international) that we support through our prayers and/or our giving.
  • Announcements - more affectionately known as "Opportunities for Growth and Service".
  • Benediction - we are sent out to be Christ's witnesses with a charge and blessing.

For families with young children: Childcare is available for infants and toddlers/preschoolers during the Sunday worship service. Parents should escort all children up through age 5 to their respective nursery rooms immediately after our "Songs of Praise and Worship" time. Out of respect for the nursery volunteers, please make sure you pick up your child(ren) from the nursery immediately following the "Benediction".

For families with elementary school age children: Children's Church is offered for those in grades K - 6. Children may leave for Children's Church immediately after the "Open Prayer" time.

Need Prayer? Directly after the "Benediction", a prayer team is available to pray with you if you feel the Spirit leading or convicting, or if you would like prayer for healing, guidance, or empowering.

Monthly Fellowship Potluck: After the morning worship service on the 3rd Sunday of each month, we adjourn to the Fellowship Hall and enjoy a meal together.  Visitors are invited to join us for our potluck and should not feel obligated to contribute a dish.  Visitors are also invited to join us for one of our Sunday School/Christian Education classes (from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM). Click on the "Christian Education" link to see a description of the offerings.
