- A Fellowship of Love

Christian Education

Christian Education runs from 9:30AM - 10:30AM during the school year (Labor Day - mid June).

Toddlers and Preschoolers

The primary goal is to nurture the children in the program and have them feel that they are loved. This is accomplished through supervised play, songs, stories, activities and conversations.

Multi-Generational Care Communities

If you are a leader, click here for the Care Community Leaders' Guide and for the 2009 - 2010 Teaching Schedule

Care Communities are multi-age groups consisting of families with children and couples and individuals without children (or with grown children) caring for one another and learning together.   Care Communities are founded on the following two core concepts:

  • Intergenerational Ministry as a way:
    • to connect members of all ages so that old and young can get to know one another
    • for children to be able to see the faith of adults in action
    • for adults to connect with children and be able to pray for them in meaningful ways
    • for parents to know what their children are learning so they can reinforce concepts being taught throughout the week
    • for parents to participate in the spiritual education of their children

  • Workshop Rotation Model - a design philosophy that
    • focuses on biblical literacy in a systematic - through the Bible in 7 years - kind of way
    • uses repetition so that missing a week of Sunday School won’t mean not learning a whole segment of the Bible
    • relies on using teachers who use their unique gifts/abilities/strengths
    • spreads the teaching workload
    • emphasizes multiple intelligences/learning styles to teach the Bible

We just completed our seven year through the Bible scope and sequence and will be beginning again with Year 1.

Participation in Care Communities is not just a Christian Education offering, but members also commit to being together as a small group
